About this work

WindMillFlowers House

This work was inspired during a period that was suffused with physical, emotional and spiritual tumult. This time was akin to being caught up in the blades of a windmill, slapped, thrown, smashed with no end in sight. 

Windmills in general hold extensive meanings across different cultures and belief systems. It is often portrayed as a sign of spiritual transformation, life and showing a fine balance between a renewable energy source of nature and man's resourcefullness. They are often portrayed as a symbol of serenity, resilience, self-sufficiency, life and perseverance in tough conditions. It can also represent diversity, potential and transformation. Amongst this plethora of interpretations, the use of "air" can also illustrate a combination of intellect, thought processes and ideas. Furthermore, in times of difficulty, the windmill metaphor seems to remind us to draw courage to keep moving forward and it reminds us to ask how we can use this graceful and limitless energy to give ourselves the might and power we need.

So, in hindsight (the "wisest one" of all), looking back to the period of turbulence, the meaning of the windmill is inspiring and uplifting. It was a time of shedding, slapping, thrashing old destructive mind habits and acquire a brilliant renewable energy source for spiritual transformation and life potential.

Therefore, the result of this windmill throwing me around produced flowers, a large and beautiful bouquet of flowers, while flowers in themselves often symbolise growth, purity, and tansformation (again), more and various virtues such as love, faith, innocence, purity and hope, lily.

Thus, trusting God while looking at Romans 8:28 during a troublesome time and making a deliberate choice in #themindisahouse, the potential dreadful harm through the windmill blades was used to release a beautiful fragrance (Rom 12:2) in life here on earth.
