About this work
WalkOnWater House is part of #themindisahouse artseries, under the #beautifyyourspace section of which there are multiples available. This personally pleasing artwork grew out of a sermon on Focal Point by Rudi Steyn in which he was speaking about Peter who walked on the water (Mat 14:22-33). When the disciples of Jesus was in a boat, late at night and far away from land, they saw Him walking towards them and they were terrified because they thought it was a ghost. On Jesus calling out to them, Peter said that if it is Him, He should call out to him and Jesus said "Come". So Peter got out of the boat and started to walk on the water. But as soon as he looked at the curcumstances around him, the waves and the water, the uncertainties of life threatening where nothing is secure or simple, doubt krept in. And he started to sink. Peter called out and Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up.
When we get out of the boat to do something we haven't done before it is crucial, absolutely crucial to keep our minds focused on God because otherwise we will not be able to walk on the water. It is not a natural thing to do. It is not natural for us to walk on water and most oftentimes what God is calling us to do is not natural. It is frequently a supernatural thing for us to do, because we do not have the skill, knowledge nor ability for an extraordinary resolution.
So in order to fulfill that which God calls us to do, we need to get out of our comfort zone, out of our boats out of that place where we feel safe and secure and start walking in faith and keep your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfector of our faith.
That's it.
That's all you must do.
That's all you can do.
Otherwise you will drown.
You will drown.I love this picture of the woman walking on the water with her big patchy dress and the #mindhouse in the back. With the Spirit of Jesus you can walk on water, you can face anything that comes your way, anything that comes across your path. Just focus on Jesus, get out of your boat and start walking. To keep on walking you will have to keep your focus on Him and walk wherever He leads. It's that simple. Yet it needs intense focus and trust.
