The Olive Tree House (#11)

28 July 2025

The Olive Tree House grew out of a individual exercise while sitting quietly amongst a large group of women.

Yes. Yes, it can be done. Women can talk heartily and avidly about various types of subjects and sound like a swarm of finches in a tree, seemingly chatting all at the same time.
But even in a large group they have a gift to listen attentively while a hush surrounds them. It was such a day. After a period of enthusiastic babble, we kept quiet and paid close attention to what God is whispering to each one of us in a personalized message. The next two printed pictures (a) drew my attention, an olive branch and the progression of a growing plant which developed into a "waiting and listening" doodle on a clean page (b).

Scriptures which accompanied the images came from Psalm 52:8 and 92:13.
"Those planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. [And] I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God, I trust in God's unfailing Love, forever and ever."
"Flourish," which in this case is a verb, an activity, growing healthily in a congenial environment.
"Flourishing," which is an adjective meaming thriving rapidly.

Philosophical thinkers can have a field day in the complicated deconstruction of this image. For a practical mind there is not much to scrutinize, for it is natural that when we are planted in a healthy surrounding we shall flourish on an ongoing basis. This supports the theory that our minds have an immeasurable potential to flourish (or perish), depending on what we fill our mindspace with -> #themindisahouse #sulenetaylorart series
